BE THEREGalerie Six Friedrich & Lisa UngarSix Friedrich, who has been a gallerist since 1980 in Munich and Lisa Ungar, who was born in Vienna and worked as an art consultant in New York and had a gallery in Munich founded together a new gallery in 1998.For this reason the gallery program has many aspects. On one hand, we represent an artist like Imi Knoebel with whom Six Friedrich and Heiner Friedrich have worked together since 1971. Contrasting is the show on the Australian photographer Tracey Moffatt who is quite another type of artist. The Munich sculptor Stephan Huber is one of our most important artists. he is internationally known since the Biennale Venezia in 1999 where he showed a huge installation. Another much younger artist from Munich is Alexandra Ranner, who has also shown at the Biennale in Venezia 2001 and at the Art Fair in Basel 2000 and received a lot of attention. Furthermore there is a big group of artists from Cologne. Starting with Andreas Schulze, whose surreal and large paintings have been shown first in the Gallery Six Friedrich 1981. Thomas Locher and Peter Zimmermann, Thomas Rentmeister and Wilhelm Mundt are typical representatives of the Cologne area. The painter Siegfried Anzinger had his first show outside of Austria in Germany at Gallery Six Friedrich as well as Hubert Scheibl had his first show in Germany at Lisa Ungar in Munich. Besides Anzinger's figurative approach they both share their Austrian background in their visual, meditative use of colours. We also edit portfolios and multiples by Stephan Huber, Thomas Locher, Eva Schlegel, Alexandra Ranner, Peter Zimmermann. From the former Editions of the Galerie Heiner Friedrich we have older works by Arnulf Rainer, Georg Baselitz, Imi Knoebel, Palermo, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter among others on stock.
