After 16 years as Director at the Marian Goodman Gallery Jeannie Freilich has launched Jeannie Freilich Fine Art to promote emerging to mid-career artists as well as trade secondary market artworks. The Twelve international artists that comprise the gallery stable are all deeply engaged with their particular practice of art making and they include Ed Cohen (American), Yvonne Estrada (Colombian), Guy Goodwin (American), Andreas Kocks (German), Elizabeth Insogna (American), Jason Kraus (American), Michael Maytal (Israeli), Annie Morris (British), Fernando Renes (Spanish), Rebecca Smith (American), Jess von der Ahe (American) and Brian Wood (Canadian). These extremely gifted artists often demonstrate a predilection for obsessive materiality and always demonstrate a visual moral integrity that points to a rigorous conceptual and technical background. The gallery opened in September 2006 with a show titled 100 artists – 100 watercolors which included historical watercolors by the likes of Paul Cezanne and Eugene Delacroix alongside Indian miniatures as well as contemporary works by such masters as Gerhard Richter, Thomas Schutte, Eric Fischl and many others.
