In Transit

Presented by Julie Saul Gallery

October 19, 2006- November 25, 2006

Birgitta Lund

Danish artist Birgitta Lund studied, lived and worked in New York for eighteen years and returned to Copenhagen in 2003. Her body of work In Transit is a personal and political reflection on that transition between the United States and Europe. Some of the photographs are very specific and others more metaphorical depictions of sites and points of transition in Europe and the United States. Lund won the HSBC Prize for Photography in 2005 and In Transit has been shown throughout Europe, published as a monograph, and the full project will be shown at Phillips de Pury in Chelsea from October 11-October 21 and will dovetail with our smaller selection.
