Marc Jancou Contemporary

Marc Jancou Contemporary opened on November 15, 2007 in historic Great Jones Alley near the Bowery. Designed by Lhoas and Lhoas Inc., the gallery features two exhibition spaces, and 26-foot tall ceilings. Just around the corner from the New Museum, the location of the gallery promises to become a vibrant center for contemporary art.

With previous galleries in Zurich, London, and Chelsea, Marc Jancou brings a sophisticated and subtle knowledge of contemporary art to his newest venture. In the past he has organized shows by artists such as Karen Kilimnik, Hiroshi Sugimoto, John Wesley, Raymond Pettibon, Jeffrey Vallance, Miroslaw Balka, Martin Kippenberger, Cindy Sherman, Chris Burden, Michael Krebber, Mark Dion, Carroll Dunham, Olafur Eliasson, Ernesto Neto, Thomas Scheibitz, and Carla Klein among others, and has participated in art fairs including FIAC, Art Basel, and the Armory.
