Founded in 2003 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - in a 225 square-foot space of a warehouse building - after only eight months the gallery relocated to New York's Chelsea neighborhood in order to expand the exhibition space. Monya Rowe Gallery focuses on exhibiting work in all mediums by emerging artists. The gallery has achieved wide acclaim through exhibiting and introducing young artists who are making significant and unique contributions to contemporary art by offering an important political and social discourse.
