Roebling Hall is pleased to present its new group exhibition, “Psychoideology: Spirituality, Politics and Identity in Search of a New Paradigm.” Featuring the work of some 13 artists, many of whom are entirely new to the gallery, “Psychoideology” explores the visual effects of our new social, cultural and political malaise (brought on by a protracted war, an exploitative climate of fear, and growing economic unease) and how it has affected, even impelled some artists on a new, widely varied search for meaning.

Organized in a fittingly open-ended, even impromptu way, “Psychoideology” doesn’t pretend to declare anything new, so much as to underline an ongoing, accelerated pursuit among contemporary artists for significance, most often found outside of the precincts of the art world. A reflection of an extremely fertile, largely centrifugal cultural response to a welter of national and international conflicts, Psychoideology affirms, once again, the artist’s right to react and seek a way forward from inside his or her studio out towards the wider world.
