This list has been informally compiled through conversations with gallerists, artists, art advisors and other art professionals in Chelsea and beyond. The list is by no means absolute, but most gallerists seem to agree that these are the galleries that command most respect and prestige in Chelsea (give or take a few galleries). There are of course many other lists that could be compiled, such as the hot galleries, the best photo galleries, and so forth, but these lists have not been compiled (yet).
